Herb and Fruit Tisane Tea

The first known instance of herbs being collected for the purpose of ingesting them took place 60,000 years ago. Recent archaeological findings appear to indicate that even way back then, our Neanderthal relatives understood the many ways that herbs can heal and soothe the body. Our featured teas are really called tisanes. Tea is what we refer to when we talk about Camelia Sinensis, however when creating infusions from herbs and fruits it’s called a Tisane. Tisanes are caffeine free and can be served hot or cold. Herbal teas, or tisanes, have a long history dating back to ancient China and Egypt, where tisanes were consumed for both enjoyment and medicinal purposes.
